A three-bed house has been put on the market for £10,000 in Middlesbrough -however, its décor boasts ashy walls, a fly-tipped front room and a huge exposed hole in the ceiling
First-time buyers can get on the property ladder by purchasing a three-bedroom property for just £10,000 – but there's a catch.
The semi-terraced home, located in Middlesbrough, appears to look in normal condition on the outside, but indoors it's a dump. Shocking pictures show debris and rubble scattered on the floor due to the house being torched in a fire. It is unclear whether it is safe to step inside.
In one of the rooms upstairs, the walls are completely caked with black soot, leaving viewers unsure of the original décor designs. But the conditions go from bad to worse, as part of the ceiling is collapsed, showing some of the sky.
Meanwhile, the living room looks like a rubbish tip due to a huge pile of mounted furniture placed in the centre of the room. The wallpaper is hanging off across the top and there is clear fire damage in one of the smashed-up bathrooms.
The kitchen appears to be the least damaged room on the property. However, planks of wood and even a door have fallen through the top of it. There is washing powder and tea-making equipment on the counter, suggesting the previous owners were going about their usual day when the tragedy hit. While the house appears to be something out of a horror film, it is still set to sell at auction and could be a great renovation project for anyone willing to get their hands dirty.
The listing reads: “The property is situated on Laycock Street, Middlesborough a popular and well-located position close to a wealth of facilities and amenities, including the centre of Middlesborough and the well-regarded Albert Park. There are also excellent rail and road connections providing access to many of the surrounding towns and cities.” It continues: “A traditionally constructed bay-fronted, mid-terrace house, amongst other properties of a similar style. ”The property offers deceptively spacious family living accommodation and is an ideal opportunity to add value via renovations and generate significant yield in an area of strong rental demand.”
This isn't the only listing to shock viewers in recent weeks, as another listing agent advertised a balcony for sale for £50,000 in South Kensington, London. However potential buyers initially thought the house was included as part of the price. They were left in hysterics and called it London's answer to 'green living.'
The terrace featured a stand-out exterior such as huge windows, with a balcony running around the first floor. The viewing platform offered views of crammed houses and included artificial grass and a fenced-off area. The listing reads: "Next Home Ltd presents a unique opportunity to acquire this exquisite terrace with its own private entrance via a lift, located in one of South Kensington's most coveted addresses.
"This exciting property is ideal for individuals looking to expand their property or business portfolio. Additionally, its convenient location makes it suitable for someone seeking a prestigious central London address, perfect for both business opportunities and recreational purposes."
