DO you want your garden to look fabulous this summer, but don’t want to splash too much cash on flowers and furniture?
Well, luckily for you, there’s a new trend that’s taking social media by storm – using shower curtains to spruce up a space.
Yes, you heard that correctly – savvy shoppers are choosing to use shower curtains to not only transform their dull gardens, but to save money on flowers and water too.
One beaming man, Matthew Knibbs, proudly took to Facebook yesterday to show off his epic shower curtain.
Posting in the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, which has 2.2million members, the thrilled shopper explained that he nabbed a decorative shower curtain and put it up in his garden, to bring some personality and style to the once plain area.
He said: “Save money on flowers and water, get a shower curtain.”
But this isn’t just any old shower curtain – Matthew’s shower curtain depicts a beautiful flowering oasis.
The curtain features a stone wall, window and blue wooden shutters – exactly like those from a rustic French chateau.
While Matthew didn’t confirm where he purchased his shower curtain from, many social media users explained that you can purchase them from Amazon.
Matthew’s post has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 1,000 likes and 174 comments.
After posting the shower curtain online, many others took to the comments to share photos of their DIY curtains too.
Social media users were left open-mouthed at Matthew’s shower curtain and were eager to praise the idea in the comments.
One user posted: “That looks so effective.”
A second chimed in: “What a brilliant idea.”
Whilst someone else noted: “Omg!!! Looks amazing.”
Meanwhile, many revealed that they didn’t even realise at first that it was a shower curtain.
One person said: “I love that, I thought it was a genuine window.”
Another added: “Took me ages to see the shower curtain.”
A third commented: “I thought it was real at first lol then I looked very close, good idea though.”
At the same time, one user asked: “How are they stuck on, I want this too, love it” to which a Facebook user confirmed “Depends what you're putting it on. I stapled mine to the fence.”
