Saturday Kitchen's co-hosts and guests said they couldn't even look at presenter Matt Tebbutt as he turned up with a distracting new look today. Matt rode onto the set in black lycra cycling shorts and had promised "don't worry, I'm gonna get changed a little later" – though that never happened.
Matt was joined by chefs Ching-He Huang and Mike Reid, plus special guest Danny Jones from McFly, while Helen McGinn was picking the wines to go with the studio dishes. As Danny was introduced and said his band prides itself on its "live abilities", Matt had the BBC studio in giggles as he quipped: "You know what I pride myself on? Lycra!"
Danny responded: "We don't know where to look, mate. I can't look you in the eye." The McFly singer and guitarist named his food heaven as slow-cooked lamb and his food hell as marzipan, pistachios and oysters. As Matt then got up to join chef Ching-He Huang at the kitchen counter, she said: "I didn't get the memo that you are cooking in that. Oh God, I can't look."
