Chennai: At least 4 empty coaches of an Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) derailed near suburban Avadi in Chennai, however, there was no immediate report of any injuries.
The train which was coming to Avadi from Annanur loco shed, did not stop at Avadi but went past the signal at the station and derailed.
The cause of the accident is being probed. The accident has disrupted regular train timings and several trains have been halted and delayed.
