After a career that has seen the business whether a global pandemic, the UK’s departure from the EU and several recessions, Holt has pulled out from the business following a sudden illness.
She is succeeded by Linsey Priestly, formerly the company’s finance manager since 2020. Her appointment was heralded by a series of new directorships, all promoted from within the company.
Rupert Allinson joins as wholesale director, Ian McCluskey takes on the role of retail director and Richard Parson has been appointed as marketing & brand director.
Commenting on Priestly’s appointment, Parson said: “Her diligence, strong leadership skills, and intimate knowledge of both companies make her the ideal candidate to steer us into the future. We are confident that under Linsey's guidance, the Fudge Kitchen Group will continue to thrive and uphold the values that have made us such a beloved brand.”
Holt’s husband and interim managing director for the past year Martin Wise moves to the position of executive chairman.
“I know that Siân will be delighted with these new appointments, and I have full faith in their joint ability to both retain what Siân has created over the last forty years,” said Wise. “I am certain that they will continue to be worthy successors to her and will be well placed under Linsey’s leadership to take Siân’s legacy well into the future”.
Established by Holt in 1983, Fudge Kitchen produces a range of more than 70 artisan fudge products available direct from the company and through export partners across Europe and Canada.
The confectionery firm took home the award for Ambient Food Manufacturing Company of the Year at this year’s Food Manufacture Excellence Awards (2023).
Meanwhile, last week, Roger White has stepped down as AG Barr Chief executive after 21 years in the role.
