AN INTERIOR design whizz for the stars has revealed the five home trends us 'mere mortals' should never do.
Loren Kreiss, took to TikTok to share the interior blunders we're guilty of making.
The interior designer, whose celeb clients include Paul McCartney, Ronald Reagan, and Frank Sinatra shared the home trends that work for celebs but not for us.
In the clip, he said: "Here are five of the most popular design trends and why you should avoid them at all costs.
"Maximalism. I get it.
"It looks so glamorous when Kelly Wurstler or Jamie Bush pull off a fabulous Technicolor vision.
"But for us mere mortals, maximalism is just an excuse to have a messy house."
Next on the list was checkered tiles, which are becoming increasingly popular.
The designer revealed this can look good when done in small doses, but going over the top with them was a bad idea.
"It's giving low budget Alice in Wonderland," he claimed.
Also on the chopping block was modern farmhouse interiors which he revealed had 'had their moment.'
Loren also spoke against mid century modern designs adding 'it was time to try something new.'
Finally, he revealed dark and moody interiors need to be left to the pros.
He said: "Dark and dreary colours like grey and black will make your home feel like an emo teenager's cave.
"You've been warned."
The video posted to his account @lorenkreiss has since gone viral with over 100k views and over 5,000 likes.
People were quick to share there thoughts on the post and it seemed not many agreed with the interior designers thoughts.
One person wrote: "
Just admit you’re a fan of the austere, bland white box look already. Hating on colour, texture and layering is getting boring."
Another commented: "You’re bored with mid century, we get it. But It’s timeless. And anyone reading this, just make your home feel like home to you. It’s not that serious."
"My house is mid century soooo imma have to pass on that advice.," penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: "Finally someone says it – it’ s time to leave MCM."
"What’s left? Lol,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: "Moody rooms are going nowhere sir!"
