A Soham company won two awards at the SME Business Awards which were held in Ely.
Star Curtains won small business of the year followed by overall business of the year for the whole awards ceremony.
The workroom of around 25 people manufacture curtains and roman blinds for the trade.
Star has been running since the 80’s and, in that time, changed hands three times.
The workroom manager, Lyn Howes, has been there from the start and is the heart of the company whilst Ross Gray joined as general manager when investors Globewell Partners bought the business in March 2022.
He said: “The team at Star are very knowledgeable and I am glad the SME business awards has recognised their hard work across the board, including the work under previous owners that has kept Star going for so long.
“Star has continued to manufacture quality products and, whilst many businesses in their sector struggle to survive in the current economy, Star will always look at ways in which to expand and offer jobs to the local area.”
