The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) has revealed the full list of winners from the BIID Awards 2023.
The winners were announced on October 12, in an awards ceremony held at London’s Drapers’ Hall, and hosted by architectural designer and television presenter, Charlie Luxton.
The highlight of the evening was the awarding of the BIID’s UK interior of the year prize. The trophy was taken home by Studio Found for its Libertine project, a renovation of the Grade I underground vaults of London’s Royal Exchange into a hospitality venue.

As well as its national and regional interior of the year awards, the BIID also awarded this year’s Anna Whitehead prize for sustainability to Zebra Projects, for the design of the NEOM Organics flagship store in Edinburgh.
The judges said that the winner put sustainability at the core of the project’s design, as it features innovative materials, 100% renewable energy use, and ethical material selection.
BIID president May Fawzy praised this year’s awards and entries, saying: “The high calibre of award entries this year has demonstrated the creativity, professionalism and innovation of interior designers across the UK. We are delighted to congratulate the winners and celebrate their achievements, at today’s inspiring ceremony.”
Fawzy was inaugurated as BIID president earlier this year, and will maintain the position until 2024. She is the successor to Mathew Freeman, who stepped down during the BIID’s annual general meeting in July.
